SMASH volleyball is our biggest fundraising event and we will continue to organize one this year. However, we want to expand our efforts to other volunteering opportunities and team activities. We understand that it can be very difficult to add volunteering to a university students’ schedule, so we designed many different volunteering opportunities, with different leaders and different times.
One of the events and programs we are implementing this year is organizing running training sessions, designed specifically for those who are interested in running the entire race course of their choice at the Ottawa Race Weekend.
We will have a few different groups and program leaders to organize weekly or biweekly training sessions to accommodate as many people’s schedules. These training sessions will allow participants to train on a regular basis to prepare them to run the entire race course of choice (5k, 10k, half marathon, full marathon) by May 2019.
